This web site is a clearing house for my genealogy research. By putting the information in the public domain, I am hoping that others can find and benefit from my research.
My own ancestry is mostly English with some Irish and French heritage. Many of my ancestors were part of the Puritan migration in the first half of the 17th century. Some of my more prolific ancestors include:
Stephen Bachiler (1561 – 1656)
Deborah Wing (daughter of Stephen Bachelor) (1592-1692)
Thomas Flint of Salem (? – 1663)
Thomas Loveland of Wethersfield (1641 – 1723)
William Shattuck of Watertown (1621 – 1672)
James Hamlin of Barnstable (1636 -1718 )
All of these ancestors have been well researched by others and that research is readily available.
I am also interested in my wife Laurie’s ancestry. Like me, she is a mix of English, Irish and French ancestry. Unlike me, her ancestry has thus far been difficult to trace past five generations. Nonetheless, we are working on it and will post what we find when we have it.
Because of privacy concerns, I am not publishing information about living people unless I either have permission or the information is in the public domain. I would consider information I can find readily on the internet (ie. censuses 1930 and older, obituaries, marriage records) to be in the public domain. If some of the information is problematic for you, please contact me and I will do my best to address your concerns.
Finally, if you are also descended from one of the people you find on my web site, please contact me at mark@markwing.com. I would love to hear from you.
